I am a mum with 3 children, all of whom are now at secondary school. For the last 11 years, I have been loving taking care of hundreds of Holly Tree children! I am a fully qualified teacher of French and Spanish with 5 years’ teaching and leadership experience at primary and secondary level in London schools. Prior to teaching, I worked in business and corporate finance. I am community minded, highly organised and passionate about providing the best possible play experiences for children.
At our after school club we accept children from Halstow Primary School and Millennium Primary School. At our breakfast club, we accept children attending Halstow Primary School. At our holiday club, we welcome children from all local primary schools.
What makes us special?
- We take time to get to know all the children in our care as individuals, we learn their likes and dislikes and we enjoy spending time interacting with them as unique people.
- We view communication with parents as very important and we aim to always give individualised feedback; equally we welcome all comments, advice and suggestions.
- We value the people who work with us: we all share the same child-centred purpose and we all support each other creating a happy and enjoyable place in which to work.
- Meet our wonderful and talented team of playworkers: with a wealth of experience, skills and ages!
Our ethos
Our aim is to provide a ‘home from home’ environment where we celebrate every child’s personality. By identifying their needs and preferences, we provide a wide range of activities to promote a rich play environment and to help children in their physical and emotional development.
At 5pm every day at our after school club and holiday club, we have circle time for the younger children where we all sit down together. This is a special time when we all, from reception to year 2, enjoy listening to each other: children do ‘show and tell’, put on a gymnastics display or drama production, bring in their collection of stones, erasers or cards from home, or tell us about their weekend.
We aim to foster a caring and open relationship between all children, parents and play workers. Reception children have a key worker assigned to them to help them settle in and keep an extra special eye on them. For all our children, we aim to feedback to parents at least once a week at pick up time so you know what your child has been doing at club.
We enjoy a close working relationship with our link primary schools in order to ensure continuity of care and to maintain good communication links.
We asked all the children what we should call our club; thanks goes to one of our year 5 girls whose bright idea we chose!
We are very flexible!
We aim to be as flexible as possible in order to meet the needs of our working parents. For breakfast club or after school club, please text, email or call Holly on 07971 215411 or thehollytreeclub@hotmail.com at any time prior to the days you require and subject to space, we will be happy to look after your children for you.
